Christmas is on its way. At the time of this news feed going to press, Christmas is just 64 days away. As we get set for another fun filled festive period here in the Show and Stay office, we thought it would be a good idea to give you some ideas on how to enjoy the festive period in our nation's capital city, London.

Outdoor ice-skating is the epitome of festive cheer and a perfect way to enjoy the season's cold weather. From Home Alone to Little Women, the outdoor ice-skating rink has a home in everyone's hearts and is a great way to get you in the mood for a bit of festive fun.

With this in mind, we have compiled a list of the top five locations in London to enjoy a spot of outdoor ice-skating this Christmas.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland: November 22 - January 4, 2009
The Winter Wonderland was so popular in 2007 that tickets for ice-skating sold out in record time. Hyde Park houses the largest of all outdoor ice rinks and offers fun for everyone. With a giant observation wheel, a toboggan slide and array of other attractions, Hyde Park really is ultimate winter experience. Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink: November 29 - January 11, 2009
This 900 sq m rink is located near the main entrance of Henry VIII's old residence and benefits from an adjacent café and carousel, ideal for a spot of respite after skating with loved ones. Somerset House Ice Rink: November 19 - January 25, 2009
The Somerset House Ice Rink is one of the most glamourous outdoor venues in London this winter. The grand 18th Century courtyard and Tiffany & Co Christmas tree combination are the perfect backdrop for a romantic evening skate. DJs spin tunes on the decks late into the night on selected dates providing a cool place for you and your friends to meet up. Somerset House Ice Rink is open at various times over the festive period. Ice Skating at the Tower of London: November 22 - January 11, 2009
For a real winter treat, try the Tower of London Ice-Skating Rink which has an oval rink, a small café and piped carols for your enjoyment. Set to the timeless backdrop of the Tower of London, this venue is guaranteed to bring out the festive cheer in everyone. The Natural History Museum Ice Rink: November 6 - January 19, 2009
If you are looking to learn and have fun at the same time this winter, head towards the Natural History Museum. A 1,000 sq m outdoor rink sits in front of the museum and is accompanied by a lovely café and bar providing warm drinks to take away that winter chill.
