Massey's Rank Coming to the Tricycle
Jim Culleton, artistic director of Fishamble, a theatre company dedicated to the discovery and development of work for the Irish stage, is to direct the British premiere of Robert Massey's Rank.
The new production will run at the Tricycle Theatre from 3rd November until 22nd November 2008. Rank is the fifth production that Fishamble have brought to the Tricycle, a darkly comical thriller, it's sure to be a hit with London audiences.
The plot explores the harsh lives of two north Dublin taxi-drivers as they explore the meaning of loyalty in the Dublin underworld. A relatively small cast including Luke Griffin, Eamonn Hunt, Alan King, John Lynn and Bryan Murray ensures an intimate experience for the audience.
Jim Culleton recently directed The Pride of Parnell Street. The show ran at the Tricycle Theatre and enjoyed critical success, it later went on tour to France, Germany and the United States. Culleton's success continued in 2007 when he won 'best new play in 2007' at both the Stewart Parker Trust Awards and the Irish Times Theatre Awards for his recent offering, Noah and the Flower Tower.
Rank opens at the Tricycle Theatre, Kilburn High Road, London on 3rd November 2008.
