Marguerite to Open in the Far East
The hit West End musical Marguerite is set to open in Tokyo next year. This intimate portrayal of a torrid love triangle set amidst the pressure of Occupied Paris is bound to be a big hit in Japan where many shows have achieved huge success.
The news comes as the West End cast announce that a recording of the songs from Margeurite will go on sale on the 28th July. Directed by Jonathan Kent and starring Ruthie Henshall and Julian Ovenden, Marguerite is written and scored by the team behind such hits as Miss Saigon and Les Miserables.
The Japanese version of Margeurite is set to open at the Akasaka ACT in Tokyo in February 2009. Also under the direction of Jonathan Kent, the Japanese version will star Sumire Haruno in the lead role.
The West End show is running at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until the 1st November so book your seats with Show and Stay now to see the original spell binding production in all its glory.
