Flamenco Flamen'ka Coming To The Lyric
A dash of latin spice will be heating up the West End as the weather cools this autumn. Flamenco Flamen'ka, a new dance show directed by Craig Revel Horwood, is coming to the Lyric Theatre.
Based on the short story, The Intruder, by prolific Argentinean writer Jorge Luis Borges, Flamenco Flemen'ka is a heated dance performance incorporating flamenco, contemporary ballet and tango. Some of the worlds most talented latin dance performers will appear in the show. Karen Ruimy, Marjorie Ascione and Manuel Gutierrez are among the impressive cast.
Flamenco Flamen'ka is a story filled with passion. A fiery love triangle, jealousy, betrayal, hatred and ultimate sacrifice set in and around a bordello take the audience on a highly emotional journey that ends in tragedy.
A successful international choreographer, director Craig Revel Horwood is perhaps best known in the UK for his position on the panel of BBC reality show Strictly Come Dancing. Horwood recently directed and choreographed Sunset Boulevard at the Watermill Newbury. The show was so successful it is rumoured to be heading to the West End.
A version of the passion-charged show has recently seen two sell out seasons in Paris. Flamenco Flamen'ka will be running for a eight week season between 18th September and 15th November 2008. With a talented director, a world-class cast and a limited season Flamenco Flamen'ka is certain to be a great success this autumn.
