Sparkling New Cast for Dirty Dancing
The fabulous live version of the 80s musical Dirty Dancing in the West End announces a brand new cast for the Christmas season.
Direct from his work with the Royal Ballet, Martin Harvey is set to take on the role of 'Johnny Castle'. Following in the footsteps of one of Hollywood's most iconic dance performances, Harvey will be playing the part made famous by Patrick Swayze in the original film.
Leanne Rowe will play opposite Harvey as the inexperienced 'Frances "Baby" Houseman'. Famous for her portrayal of 'May Moss' in last year's period mini series Lillies, Rowe is sure to delight West End audiences when she begins her run next month.
Written by Eleanor Bergstein, the creator of the original movie, the stage version of Dirty Dancing has been wowing audiences in the West End since 2006. Re-telling the endearing story of two young dancers as they prepare for a huge competition at the Kellerman's Holiday Resort, the musical features some astoundingly choreographed set pieces and a truly unforgettable soundtrack. Rich with the songs of the original, Dirty Dancing features hits like ‘Do You Love Me?’, ‘Hungry Eyes’ and the Academy Award Winning ‘(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.’
