Andrew Lloyd Webber's Birthday In The Park
BBC Radio 2 and John Barrowman will be hosting a one-off, one-night concert to celebrate the 60th birthday of theatre mogul, Andrew Lloyd Webber. The show will be held on September 14th 2008 and will use the stage leftover from Proms in the Park, which finishes on September 13th.
This unique show will be called Andrew Lloyd Webber's Birthday in the Park and will feature performances of the birthday boy's most popular show tunes. Guests can expect musical highlights from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Cats, Evita, Phantom of the Opera and many more.
High profile pop and stage stars will be performing at the event. Joseph's Lee Mead, Wicked's Idina Menzel, Blue's Duncan James, X Factor's Rhydian and English soul sensation Joss Stone are among the confirmed performers. The 70-piece BBC Concert Orchestra will provide the music and the 100-voice Crouch End Festival Chorus will also be performing.
The concert will begin at 6pm and will close with a spectacular firework finale. Tickets cost £25 for this musical extravaganza and those unlucky enough to miss the festivities can hear them broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on 10th October.
